IMPHAL, Jul 23: In lopsided matches in the Under-17 Inter District junior Girls Football Tournament at ESU ground today, Imphal East District Football Association thrashed District Sports Association, Bishnupur 9-0 as Imphal West DFA crushed DSA, kakching 7-0. Th umabati scored three goals in the Imphal East win with S Reena Roy striking twice followed by one each from Ch Basanti, K Ranjita, S Tejibala and P Bijeta. Three goals from Sharon Singsit, two by E Bindyarani and one apiece from Monhaochong Man-lun and Y Premi saw Imphal West record the comfortable victory.
Inter-school: Clinical finishing by D Clinglon and Hmalngam helped DYSO, Chandel team humble DYSO, Imphal West by a whooping 8-0 margin in the Under-14 Inter School Football Tournament at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex. The four-goal apiece show by the duo also saw the Chandel boys set up semi final clash against DYSO, Churachandpur. The other semi final pits DYSO, Ukhrul and DYSO, Imphal East. In the under-17 competition of the tournament, matches between DYSO, Chandel and Imphal East, and DYSO (IW) against DYSO, Senapati ended on goalless draws. In the semi finals, Chandel will play against Bishnupur while the Ukhrul team takes on Kangpokpi.
Wushu team: Wushu Association of Manipur has selected 57 athletes and five officials to represent Manipur in the 3rd North East India Wushu Championships to be held at Itanagar from July 25 till 28. The State squad will depart tomorrow for the competition venue at 5.30 am from Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
