FGACTA calls off hunger strike

Four Government Aided College Teachers’ Association (FGACTA) has called off its hunger strike today.
The hunger strike was called off temporarily after an agreement was reached with the Chief Minister and Education Minister during a meeting at 4 pm today at CM’s Bungalow, said a statement of the co-convenor of the association.
The teachers’ association had launched the hunger strike on March 7 demanding conversion of the four colleges- Waikhom Mani Girls’ College, Thoubal, SK Women’s College, Nambol, South East manipur College, Komlathabi and Moreh College, Moreh into full fledged Government colleges.
Meanwhile, Manipur Students’ Federation (MSF) has reiterated the call of the teachers’ association to convert the four colleges into full fledged Government colleges.
