Golden jubilee celebrated

Chandel: Paraolon village, Chandel district and its Church today celebrated 50 years of its establishment at the village.
Paraolon village, 39 kms south of Chamol, Tengnoupal (Imphal-Moreh road) and 25 kms south-east of Chandel HQs near New Somtal village, inhabited by Lamkang community was established in the year 1967 by merging together the Kanjam/Solgun, Kotal Khunthak and Lungmi villages.
Late Rengtakhon Dilbung and Reverend R Khular are the two pioneer who designed the Paraolon village, said the chief of the village, James Dilbung during the golden jubilee celebration of the village and its Church, reports our correspondent.
Rev SR Onesima, finance secretary, MBC, Rev R Khular, K Khular, executive secretary, LNBA, SK Buntivi, Pastor, James Dilbung, Chief Paraolon village, SK Larsing, convener, Jubilee Committee, Th Joy Lamkang, Vice Chairman, ADC Chandel district, Ts Kanlun, member, ADC Chandel, Ws Karnal Anal, speaker, UNC, Lv Robert, president, CNPO, Chandel, Gabriel Chinir, assistant general secretary, UNC, H Thamdok Francis, president LNKK, Col Mahesh Singh Panwar, Commanding Officer, Sub-Major Pradip Bhuyan and Major Manish of the 4 Assam Regiment along with religious leaders, members of different civil society organisations attended the event.
Rev R Khular hoisted flag and released jubilee balloons to mark the celebration. Rev SR Onesima opened the jubilee monument while Rev K Khular released a souvenir during the celebration.
Over 1000 people from the surrounding villages attended the golden jubilee celebration.
