House clears four demands

IMPHAL, Feb 8: The State Assembly today passed four demands for grants 2018-19 amounting to Rs 14,195,283,000 including Rs 990,29,46,000 for PWD, Rs 97,09,26,00 for administration of justice, Rs 327,55,11,000 for Social Welfare Department and Rs 4,59,00,000 for Science and Technology.
The demands were tabled by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Y Joykumar for due discussion and approval of the House.
While discussing the demand pertaining to PWD, Opposition MLAs K Govindas, Dr Chaltonlien Amo, Th Lokeshwar, D Korungthang, AK Mirabai, DD Thaisii, Md Abdul Nasir, Kh Joykisan, Okram Henry and Okram Surajkumar raised policy cut motion.
They accused the State Government of not monitoring inclusion of blacklisted contractor in tender process, delaying release of CDAs and construction of Civil Secretariat at Mantripukhri and market complex at the erstwhile Tombisana High School complex.
