Lobbying on for State BJP chief

IMPHAL, Feb 15: In tandem with BJP National general secretary Ram Madhav’s announcement that a new president of BJP Manipur Pradesh would be elected within this month, some BJP leaders have been lobbying hard with Central leaders with the objective of succeeding incumbent president Th Chaoba.
It is reported that Laishram Subhash is also in the presidential race. He became an active member of BJP in 1984 and he contested the Manipur Legislative Assembly election in 1990 in Sugnu Assembly Constituency.
It is said that Subhash took pro-active roles for the safety and welfare of people from the North East region when they were subjected to different forms of harassment and discrimination at Delhi.
Notably, incumbent president Th Chaoba’s term has already expired.
