Repoll likely at 19 polling stations

IMPHAL, Apr 15 : Even though it was reported that the polling in Outer Manipur PC was held without any violence, 19 polling stations are likely to go for repoll.
RO Haobam Rosita and two general observers namely Narbu Wangdi Bhutia and P David Pradhan have recommended the ECI to hold repoll at the 19 polling stations.
As such, the office of the CEO has initiated due preparations to hold the repoll on April 18 in case the ECI accepts the recommendation.
The 19 polling stations which are likely to go to repoll include 11 in Senapati district, four in Ukhrul district, three in Churachandpur district and one in Chandel district.
The number of polling stations recommended for repoll based on factual reports is seven.
In Ukhrul districts, EVMs of 45/17 Poi-A and 45/18 Poi-B polling stations were damaged by unidentified persons.
57/01 Sanglei, 57/03 Songkong and 57/16 Songphu polling stations of Churachandpur district have been recommended for repoll as voting was done at a non-designated location (Najang village) rather than at the three polling stations.
The number of votes cast at 47/37 Kdom Khavii polling station of Senapati district was found more than the total number of electorate registered against the particular polling station.
The presiding officer of 47/1 Koide polling station of Senapati district reported that the VVPAT may not have been working properly even the poll was conducted in a peaceful manner. The other 12 polling stations were recommended for repoll on the basis of complaints of candidates and their agents and video footages of the polling process.
The polling stations are 41/30 Mahoutera of Chandel district, 44/21 Shangshak (B), 45/43 Kachai (A) of Ukhrul district, 48/11 Chawainu, 48/20 Songsong (B), 48/32 Makhel Keibi (A), 48/33 Makhel Keibi (B), 48/40 Tungam Khullen (D), 48/53 Tungjoy (D), 48/65 Laii (A), 48/68 Laii (C) and 49/10 Tadubi (A-1) of Senapati.
These 12 polling stations have been recommended for repoll on several electoral malpractices.
