Stage set for quarter finals of Manmasi Brotherhood Football Tournament

IMPHAL, Oct 2 : The Manmasi Brotherhood Football Tournament organised by Youth, Education and Sports Affairs of the Kuki Inpi under the theme ‘Peace and Harmony’ has reached the quarter-finals stage at Phaituol Village, Tamenglong district.
The tournament which is participated by 17 football teams from villages in Tamenglong district , Jiribam district and Cachar Valley in Assam seeks to promote communal harmony among all sections of the people through the medium of sports.
37 Assam Rifles, Kadamtala, Jiribam are actively supporting the tournament in providing sports equipments, transportation, tents and refreshments.
Two knock out rounds of the tournament have been held in Phaituol village, Tamenglong district.
The best six teams will fight in the quarter-final league matches. The teams which have qualified the for quarter-finals are: Hmarkhawlien FC, Hmarkhawlien Hele Hele, from Cachar; Pangkotphai FC and Phaitol FC (B) from Tousem sub-division, Tamenglong district, Zairon Lalkhum Memorial Team and Lungreijang PSG from Jiribam.
The quarter final of the tournament will be held at Phaituol while the semi-finals and final will be held at Jiribam HSS ground, Jiribam.
The Manmasi Brotherhood Football Tournament carries a cash prize of 70,000 for the champion team, Rs 20,000 for 1st runners up while there will be a consolation prize of Rs 10,000 for the 3rd placed team.
