State Govt orders creation of 7 new dists

IMPHAL, Dec 8 : The State Government under Chief Minister O Ibobi has taken a tough decision and despite the ongoing economic blockade against any decision to upgrade Sadar Hills and Jiribam to district level, the State Government has gone ahead and declared seven new districts.  The new districts thus created are,  Tengnoupal, Kakching, Pherjawl (in CCpur ), Kamjong (in Ukhrul), Noney (in Tamenglong), Jiribam (in Imphal East), Kangpokpi (in erstwhile Senapati).
Interestingly, Manipur has been reeling under an economic blockade since November 1 against any design of the Govt to declare Sadar Hills and Jiribam as districts.

A perfect district reorganisation of Manipur state since India attains independence. If Manipur was a Union Territory such bold decision could not be taken up without approval of Central Government. Now 16 districts with an average of 2 lakh population in each district. The question of ethnic territory is almost subsided as a district is now composed by a same or similar community just like in the manner of a Municipal Board. However, those who demand ethnic territory should bear expenditure of babus of their districts.

No it’s not possible.when Manipur govt can’t deal with this nine district.how can they add another district.and govt. Of Manipur can’t play such role without the concern of public of every district.I should say if it is declare it is a black mail.centre govt must order to arrest him immediately before his destroy.so no additional district is required till date…in every dicission of the government..they should know The public interest and work out according to it..and today creation of the district is illegal.and the centre govt must Take concern on this before the state is spoil by the present leader of Manipur.

Do Manipur has the resources or fund to create 7 districts at a time?? How much resources or fund is required to create a single district should be taken into consideration before taking such a major step. Say Pherzawl, it is a very remote village with poor connectivity by any mode, how much fund will be required to make it a full fledged district, many govt buildings, offices, premises, etc need to be constructed. Same to other new districts. Has the govt estimated the cost before the announcement??? What a blind decision!!

To declare a full-fledged district is not a difficult task like orphan school or children home for destitute children. But to retain the status of a grown up administrative will be a long journey. A pamper son is nothing but the plight of the family. It will bring pique of the state and onus to the civil for further turmoil. New administrative buildings, recruitment of forces and more to do. Is it welcoming more blockage for the naif people? We need a new state/changed governance with a new ideal philosopher. Democracy should not be converted to Demoncrazy by a few draconian politicians. Think deeply before the election, are we civilized or barbarians.

Those who feel the hardship of reaching Ukhrul from Kamjong and likewise others who lives to the most interior remote part will rejoice the decision. We sitting here in main headquarters can pass comments easily, but they are the real people to decide whether they like the judgement or not. Now, the funds allocated by central govt. and state budget will go directly to the genuine beneficiaries and not to the the leadership who represents those areas but never reached those interior parts. Kudos to present government. If they really believe in God and if they think this is something which should be done long overdue, definitely they will bless the present govt.

What the f**k is the government doing? There was no consultation to the people. The MLAs in the hills where unduly represented after the 3 bills. This is a prima facie of constitutional failure disguise in the name of a district. The president rule is must.
