Boxing trial

IMPHAL, May 17: Trial selection of boxers— to represent Imphal West Boxing team in the ensuing State level boxing championship 2017—will be held on May 21 (Sunday) from 7 am at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena. Details can be had from the Imphal West District Amateur Boxing Association.
The Imphal East District Amateur Boxing Association will also hold similar selection trial on May 19 and 20 at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

Khello India : 10 boxers from State enter final

IMPHAL, Jan 23 : Altogether ten boxers from Manipur have entered the final of the ongoing National Level Under 14 and U-17 Boys’ and Girls’ Boxing Championship held under the theme Khello India at Guwahati.
In the U-14 Girls’ category, five girls from Manipur have entered the final while in the U-17 category in the girls’ section one has reached the final.
In the U-14 Boys’ category three young boxers have entered the final while in the U-17 category one has entered the final.
Three boxers from Manipur have also bagged bronze in different weight categories.
In the under 17 (51 kg), Girls’ category , M Puja managed to bag a bronze while in the 54 kg category Sanathoi Hemam settled for a bronze.  Another bronze was won by K Suraj in the 60 Kg category (Under 17 years).
Kh Anju of Manipur beat a boxer from MP in the U-14 (46 Kg) while in the 48 Kg section Benchi M beat another boxer from Andhra Pradesh to enter the final.
L Christina continued the winning show when she outboxed a player from Andhra Pradesh in the 50 Kg section while in the 52 Kg H Ambeshori boxed her way to the final.

Imphal East boxing NSA crowned overall champions

IMPHAL, Nov 6: Tallying 14 gold, 9 silver and 2 bronze medals, NSA emerged the champions of the ongoing district level boxing championship organised by Imphal East District Amateur Boxing Association at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.
KMDC, who bagged 10 gold, 10 silver and 4 bronze medals were adjudged the runners-up.
O Michael Meitei of SSC and Roshan Ahmad of NSA were adjudged the best boxer best loser of the championship respectively.
In the girls category, Kh Samibanu of KMDC and K Rojita of INJC won the best boxer and best loser awards respectively.
Khoibi Salam, VP of IBF and secretary of MABA; Y Chandrakumar, VP, IEDABA; Kh Premkanta, EE, Manipur Pollution Control Board; Y Romola Devi, advocate; T Pari Meitei, secretary, NLP School and H Raikumar attended the closing cum prize distribution ceremony as the dignitaries.

Imphal East boxing NSA continue medal haul

IMPHAL, Nov 5: With 11 gold, 9 silver and 2 bronze medals in their kitty, NSA are continuing their campaign to bag the team champions of the ongoing district level boxing championship organised by Imphal East District Amateur Boxing Association at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.
MLA Ng Bijoy will attend the closing ceremony of the championship tomorrow.
KMDC so far bagged nine gold, eight silver and four bronze while NBA managed to win four gold, one silver and three bronze.

Imphal East boxing championship begins

Imphal, Nov 3: The 6th Sub-junior boys and girls, 5th junior boys and girls and 3rd Senior men and women district level boxing championship 2016 organised by Imphal East District Amateur Boxing Association began today at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.
The opening ceremony was attended by Thoibi Salam, secretary general, Manipur Amateur  Boxing  Association; BC Mohan, OC, Transit Camp, Minuthong; Laishram Sarita, Arjuna awardee; S Nirmala Devi, DYASO Imphal East and H Raikumar social activist as the dignitaries.
In the sub-junior boys (C-10/ 46-48 kg) quarter final, N Sana of KBA, I Roshan Meitei of NSA and Oksin Shaija of KMDC-A boxed their way to the semi-final.
In the sub-junior boys (C-8/42-44 kg) category, A Willijackson of NBA beat Gunnajeet Laikhram of SSC to enter the semi final.
In the sub-junior girls (C-10/46-48 kg) category, L Sushmita of NSA-A defeated S Thoi Chanu of NBA.
The day also saw L Memsana Chanu of NSA boxing her way to the final defeating Th Kunjarani of INJC in the (C-10/46-48 kg) sub-junior women’s semi-final bout.
In the sub-junior boys (D-2/30-32 kg) category, H Joyson of YBC defeated N Chinglensana Meitei of NBA to enter the semi-final.
A total of 116 boxers—73 men and 43 women, registered participation in the championship.

District level boxing championship ends

THOUBAL, Aug 28: The 4th district level boxing sub-junior (boys and girls), senior (men and women) championship 2016 organised by Thoubal District Amateur Boxing Association came to an end today at Wangbal multipurpose community hall.
With 12 gold in their kitty, AUS-A emerged the overall champion.
The closing ceremony today was attended by M Prithviraj, Parliamentary Secretary (YAS & Tourism); Th Shyamo Singh, Chairperson, Thoubal Municipal Council; O Suryakumar (Kennedy) Singh, Coordinator, Khangabok Assembly Youth Congress Committee; L Ibomcha Singh, Asst Director, SAI, Imphal; Kh Menjor Mangang, founder, MMRC and L Sarita Devi, Arjuna Awardee as the chief guest, president and special invitees respectively.
The Best Boxer (men) was bagged by L Juliet Singh of AUS-A while the Best Looser (men) award was given to M Thoiba Meitei of AUS-B. The Best Boxer (women) was bagged by N Babyrojisana Chanu of LSA while the Best Looser (women) was bagged by M Luxmi of AUS-A.

THOUBAL, Aug 27: N Kalpana Devi of AUS-A bagged gold beating Pushpa Sapam of MBTC in the final bout in the B-7 (40-42 kg) category of the ongoing 4th district level boxing sub-junior (boys and girls), senior (men and women) championship 2016 organised by Thoubal District Amateur Boxing Association  at Wangbal multipurpose community hall.

District level boxing championship begins

THOUBAL, Aug 26: The 4th district level boxing sub-junior (boys and girls), senior (men and women) championship 2016 organised by Thoubal District Amateur Boxing Association began today at Wangbal multipurpose community hall.
In the boys C-10 (46-48 kg) category bout, L Juliet Singh of AUS-A beat Th Raspriyar Meitei of LSA and advanced to the next round.
The opening day also saw Kh Malemnganba of AUS-B advancing to the next round after beating K Rahul Singh of MBTC in the B-11 (48-50 kg) category. Y Premchand of AUS-B defeated S Beighyachandra of KBA to enter the next round in the A-14 (54-57 kg) category.
In the girls D-4 (34-36 kg) category, H Jenika of KBA beat Kh Afsana of SECA-A while M Luxmi Devi of AUS-A beat Sh Puja Devi of SECY-B.
In the girls B-7 (40-42 kg) category, Pushpa Sapam of MBTC beat Ph Latasana Chanu of SECY-A while N Kaipara Devi of AUS-A defeated L Lingjen of AUS-B.
In the junior boys (60 kg) category, Md Tajuddin of KBA defeated Th Himalay Meitei while Y Amit Singh of AUS-B beat Y Dhamen Singh of LSA.
Earlier, the opening ceremony was attended by MLA Paonam Brojen Singh, MLA O Landhoni Devi, MLA K Sarat, Tentha ZP Member L Inaocha Singh, Pradhan nominee of Wangbal GP H Doren Singh, P Sama Devi, wife of MLA P Brojen, MABA secretary and IBF vice-president Khoibi Salam and president of THOUDABA N Kuber Singh.
