Chandel: Tokpaching village authority has expressed discontentment over the halting of Barack-style quarters for teachers at Tokpaching village.
A press release issued by chief/ chairman of Tokpaching village authority urged the authority concerned to finish construction at the stipulated time assigned by the State Government.
It sought the attention of the State Government to look into the matter and take necessary steps at the earliest.

Chandel: The civil bodies of Molnoi area has vehemently condemned the killing of Lalmoi Haokip at Tuibong, Churachandpur on August 2, conveyed a joint press release issued today by Chairman of Molnoi Area Welfare Council (MAWC), Kuki Women Human Rights (KWHR) and Molnoi Area Youth Union (MAYU) president.
All civil bodies of Molnoi area including MAWC, MAYU, KWHR, Molnoi area and village chiefs of Molnoi area have urged the State Government to investigate the case and book the culprit at the earliest.

Chandel: The protest launched by the DRDA employees of Chandel district demanding payment of pending salaries has been suspended after PR and RD Minister Th Biswajit met the employees and assured to provide the salaries for the pending months at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, DRDA Chandel district assistant project officer W Iboyaima said that the agitation planned by the disgruntled employees has been suspended after an agreement was reached to provide the pending salaries for the employees and normal work will resume from tomorrow.

Capacity building programme

Chandel: A three days capacity building programme on ‘Improved production Technology of pineapple’ under Integrated Horticulture including Fisheries for NEH Region in India, an NEC funded project began today at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Chandel’s training hall at Mongsangpantha village, Chandel.

Chandel: The All Moreh Auto Rickshaw Owner and Drivers Welfare Association (AMAO and DWA), in a press release issued today by the president of the association, has notified that according to an agreement reached between the body and the State Government in March 24, 2010, the loading and unloading of all private vehicles, Tata Sumo, Tata DI and vans should be done at spot number 1 which was specified by the authority concerned.
It further added vehicles are prohibited from entering the spot number 2, which stretched from Moreh police station to Namphalong gate, after 7 am but there are no restrictions after 4 pm.

Training prog held

Chandel: Centre for Women and Girls (CWG) and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chandel organised a programme on “Training at partner level for farmers on soil and water conservation and livestock management” under the guidance of Azim Premjit Philanthropic Initiatives (APPI) at central Church complex in Molnoi area, Chandel district.

Chandel: The office of Thamnapokpi Village national highway Affected Compensation Committee, Chandel district has urged the State Government and the agencies concerned to refrain from misappropriate use of land of the villagers in connection with the construction of NH 2.
A press release issued by secretary of the Committee welcomed the project of expanding and upgrading the NH No 2 (Trans-Asian Highway) but urged the Government not to hastily measure the land or forcibly take it without proper compensation.
It invited the Government agencies to visit the marked areas and conduct seminar or awareness programme before executing any task so that both the sides can cooperate and ensure smooth development.
