Registration of pensioners camp

Churachandpur: A camp for ‘Registration of pensioners to Jeevan Pramaan with Aadhaar’ which started on May 12 will conclude on June 10, reports our correspondent. The camp was organised by Common Services Centre (CSCs) under District e-Governance Society (DeGS), Churachandpur in association with District Treasury office, Churachandpur at the Treasury office.
District manager, DeGS, Churachandpur Peter G Bieklien stated that a one day workshop /orientation of Jeevan Pramaan (Digital Life Certificate ) will be held for the pensioners after the completion of the camp, reports our correspondent.

Zillai hails

Churachandpur: The Zillai (Vaiphei Students’ Association) GHQ has extended its heartiest gratitude to all the successful students of the recently declared Higher Secondary Examination within Zillai fraternity, conveyed a press release issued by secretary (education and Career Department) Zillai GHQ.
The Zillai especially congratulated the outstanding performance by Dimsonjem Vaiphei, d/o Ginlalthuam Vaiphei of Mualngat village Churachandpur district who secured top position in HSE 2017 (Arts stream) under Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE).
The association also lauded Lalgouboi Vaiphei, s/o Neklallem of D Phaillian village, Churachandpur district who secured 9th position in HSE (Arts) under COHSEM.

‘Tribal patriots’ set for burial

Churachandpur: Eight of the nine tribal patriots who were killed during the anti-tribal bill agitation in 2015 will be buried on Wednesday.
The JAC AATB has set the burial site next to Khuga’s main dam which will eventually be developed as a memorial park as per the terms of the MoU signed between the State Government and the JAC AATB, reports our correspondent.
According to a schedule released by the JAC, the main funeral events will be held at Lamka public ground, from 11 am onwards.

Anti-Terrorism day observed

Churachandpur: Anti-Terrorism day was observed today at STC BSF, Churachandpur where a pledge taking ceremony was also held.
271 BSF officers, SOs and Jawans took pledge against terrorism in the presence of Inspector General of STC BSF, Churachandpur Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha.
The district administration, Kangpokpi also observed the day at the conference hall of DC office, Kangpokpi.
Speaking at the occasion, DC, Kangpokpi T Ranjit Singh recalled the death of former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi and highlighted the significance of observing the day.
SP, Kangpokpi, Additional SP, District Level officers and staff of DC office attended the programme.

Any individual can share/state any complaint, information or input directly, said SP, Churachandpur Rakesh Balwal and added that the caller’s identity will be kept confidential.

Man stabbed, attacker’s house torched

Churachandpur: A former president of TKSU, Lalminthang Misao received multiple wounds as he was reportedly attacked with a knife yesterday night at Yaiphakol village while on his way home, reports our correspondent.
The local police acted swiftly and apprehended the culprit identified as one Ramdinsanga Chakchuak (37) of Yaiphakol village.Meanwhile, some women who were incensed with the attack, set ablaze the house cum roadside shop of the culprit at around 11 am today.

SSA Teachers’ Association CCpur to join cease work strike

Churachandpur: Endorsing the decision of All Manipur SSA Teachers’ Association to declare an indefinite cease work strike, the SSA Teachers’ Association, Churachandpur today declared that they will join the cease work strike from tomorrow.
A press release issued by SSA Teachers’ Association, Churachandpur has stated that the former Government assured to release the due salaries by January 2017 but failed to do so and added that the current State Government has also failed to clear the backlog pay which it had assured to release by May 1.
Due to the negligence and failure on their promises to release the eight months pending salaries, the teachers are compelled to go on an indefinite cease work strike, it added.
The association has demanded completion of enlistment of their names in MGEL, allotment of EIN within May, conversion of their services into State cadre and establishment of zonal wise model schools exclusively for the SSA teachers as their conditions to end their strike, reports our correspondent.

CUCO legal awareness

Churachandpur: A one day legal awareness programme on Food Security Act, Right to Education, and Protection of Children & Child Labour from Sexual Offence Act (POCSO) was held today at Bethany multipurpose hall, family lane.
W Lata Devi (Advocate) and M Urmila Devi (Advocate) explained to the students of the school about the three Acts.
School headmaster, M Biteshwor alias John Singh, CUCO president SK Mangang and AMMUDO vice-president Aring Kom attended the event as chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
