Jiribam: In connection with the observation of People’s Day in different parts of the State, People’s Day was also observed at the hall of Lalpani Government High School, today, where the people of different communities met with the Superintendent of Police, Jiribam district, Mubi Moirangthem, Additional SP, K Ajit Kumar Sharma and OC, Jiribam district police, T Bangkabihari Singh and addressed their grievances and problems.

The police check post was set up to put a check on infiltration of immigrants from the porous inter-State waterways borders and also to inspect the smuggling of contraband, drugs, illegal forest products and black marketing etc.
Jiribam: A one day legal awareness programme was organised by Jiribam Network of Positive People (JNP), Jiribam at sub-district hospital, Ningshingkhul, Jiribam on October 9.
A press release issued by JNP stated that H Rajenkumar Singh, teacher in-charge of Students Legal Literacy Club, Jiribam Higher Secondary School, RK Charles, sub-divisional police officer, Jiribam, M Rajen Singh, CMO, jiribam Dr E Oken attended the programme as resource persons among others and spoke on different topics including ‘Food Security Act’, ‘RTI’, ‘Consumer Act’.
Around 110 locals took part in the programme. The programme was sponsored by Manipur State Legal Services Authority, High Court complex, Imphal, it added.

JIRIBAM, Oct 8: The polling officials who were on duty in 57 polling stations of Jiribam district yesterday, have expressed profound gratitude to the DC Jiribam, DEO, ADC, RO and the security forces for ensuring smooth and problem free General Panchayat Election at the district.
The officials also praised the authorities concerned for providing necessary honorarium and training/ rehearsal to the polling officials.
They also praised the high officials for making necessary transport arrangements for polling officials from far flung areas after the completion of he polls, a feat which was never taken up in the past.
