KANGPOKPI, Dec 11:Five persons, including four chiefs, who went to deliver the dead body of Thangkholet Chongloi (Chief of Tuidam village, who expired at Shija Hospital), were seriously injured when a vehicle of 4 th Assam Regiment, Moltuk Battalion collided with the Gypsy they were travelling, yesterday.

Kangpokpi: As part of its drive against drug abuse in Champhai area, women wings of Keithelmanbi village on Thursday disposed and burned over 400 litres of liquor seized during their routine frisking of vehicles along National Highway 2.
Speaking to media persons, Hatnu Kipgen, secretary of the women wing said that the drive was enforced to save the youth of the region.
Saying similar drive will continue, she asked for cooperation and support from the people of Champhai.

KANGPOKPI, Dec 9: In an embarrassing incident for the medical department, a mother delivered her baby at home without any medical care and attention after CHC, Kangpokpi, which was recently upgraded into District hospital allegedly denied her delivery in the hospital, giving reasons of incomplete documents, non accompany by ASHA workers and failure to go proper checkup during pregnancy.

Seminar cum cultural meet

Kangpokpi: The 2nd Kuki Christian Update, Kangpokpi Gambih Seminar cum Cultural Meet, 2017 which started at K Songtun village from November 23 concluded in style today. The seminar cum cultural meet was organized under the theme, “Good Deeds” to promote unity and good services among the people in the Gambih. Winners of the competitions held during the meet were rewarded with certificates of appreciation. A final football match played between Enjakhup House and Tintong House during the closing ceremony was won by Tintong House.
