WW1 kins accuse TNFLFC of distorting Labour Corp history

Ukhrul, Dec 12 : The World War 1 Tangkhul Naga Labour Corp Association (WW1 TNLCA) has accused the organizers of the ongoing Tangkhul Naga France Labour Corps Football Centenary, (TNFLFC) 2017 of distorting the history of their fore fathers by depicting the ongoing football tournament as commemoration of 66th Tangkhul Naga France Labour Corp football centenary celebration.

Ukhrul: An alleged rape victim and her mother, from Mawai Reishangphung, Kasom Khullen, Ukhrul, met with an accident at Yeshom village along Kasom Khullen road on December 9, on their way to attend the District Court of Ukhrul, which has been scheduled on December 13.
The victim and her mother were badly injured and were admitted to Shija hospital, Langol, conveyed a press release issued by headman of Reisangphung village authority.
It may be recalled that the victim was allegedly raped by a miscreant on the evening on November 8, it stated and added that the victim was further threatened not to reveal the incident to anyone.
The victim was staying in the SDO quarter of Kasom Khullen when the incident occurred, the press release added.

Ukhrul Dec 2:Environmental Force at Grass Root Level(ENFOGAL) organised a cleanliness drive, under the theme, ‘No to Litter’ third phase from Awontang to Kasomtang junction, Ukhrul today. During the cleanliness drive around 30 volunteers of ENFOGAL participated in town cleaning.

Ukhrul: The two days Tangkhul leadership summit – I organised by TBCA youth union and sponsored by Northeast India Advanced Mission (NIYAM) concluded today at the Town Hall Phungreitang, Ukhrul.  The two days summit which was held under the banner “Explore your possibilities” dwelt on different spectrum of Tangkhul society. The summit stressed on strengthening and coordinating all social organizations for the betterment of the Tangkhul community. The summit was attended by Tangkhul leaders from different Tangkhul social organizations, Church leaders, legal experts, entrepreneurs, musician, rights activists. More than 80 members participated in the summit.

Ukhrul: A one day celebration of pre-harvest festival “Dhareo Phanit” was held today, at Pakshi ground, Hungpung by Thawaijao Hungpung Youths Organization (THYSO).
Village elder K Solomon inaugurated the festival. According to the organizing committee chairman Barnabas, Dhareo is a nomenclature of “Mawonzai”.
He said that the festival was conducted before the harvest of paddy and for praying to the almighty for a bountiful harvest.
As a part of the festival, varieties of crops were displayed for sale while traditional game for entertainment were also performed.

Ukhrul, Oct 14 : The founding president of Leishiphung Christian Hospital (LCH), Ukhrul Dr Luithuk Zimik passed away at LCH Hospital today, due to severe pneumonia.
