Kachikhun Junior Volleyball KYLSC-A clinch championship title

Imphal, May 15: KYLSC-A thrashed NYVA Naorem in a straight set to lift the first State Level Junior Boys Volleyball Tournament 2017 in the championship organised by the Kachikhun Youth Library and Sporting Club (KYLSC) ground under the aegis of All Manipur Volleyball Association. In the final match today, the Kachikhun host club beat NYVA by 25–21, 25–19, 26–24.
In the post-match ceremony, Sorokhaibam Rajen (Lamsang MLA /Deputy Chairman, Manipur State Planning Board and chairman, Handloom and Handicrafts), Yumnam Ibochou (founder chairman, KYLSC), Konthoujam (O) Suniti (Mayang Langjing Zilla Parishad) and Oinam Ongbi Tondon (Pradhan, Maklang GP) graced the occasion. The winners were awarded with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 15,000, while the runners-up received a trophy and Rs 10,000. SYSC Sangaithel won the best discipline team with a cash prize of Rs 2,000, and Sakhil of KYLSC, who was adjudged the best player of the tournament, received Rs 1,000.

Volleyball match

IMPHAL, May 10: A friendly volleyball match was organised with local youth of Pungmon village on May 8 by Noney Battalion under the aegis of Red Shield Division. The event was organised to foster the relations with villagers. After completion of the match the youth were briefed and motivated by the Haochong Post Commander to improve their physical fitness and join Indian Army/Security Forces, according to a statement issued by PIB (DW), Imphal.

Volleyball match

IMPHAL, Apr 21: Noney battalion under the aegis of Loktak Brigade and Red Shield Division conducted a friendly volleyball match with local youth of Tuikan, Kangchup and Geljang at Kangchup post on April 19. After the match, the youth were briefed and motivated by the post commander to improve their physical fitness and join Indian army/security forces, conveyed a statement issued by the PIB (DW), Imphal.

3rd Maklang Mahadeva Mini Volleyball Tournament IGO down MYDC to lift trophy

IMPHAL, Feb 21 : IGO downed a fighting MYDC to lift the 3rd Maklang Mahadeva Mini Volleyball Tournament in the final of the tournament played today at Maklang High School Ground.
In a keenly contested match, the players from IGO managed to get the better of MYDC winning three sets and losing one set in the best of five sets.
The match could have gone the full distance but the spikers of IGO played to a team and demonstrated better co-ordination to put it across MYDC winning three sets and losing one set.
In the first set, IGO had to put their best foot forward to down a fighting MYDC 25-18.
Not deterred by the loss in the first set, MYDC players put up a better performance and managed to outspike the players of IGO by 25 points to 18 points in the second set.
With the two teams tied at one set each, both teams put their best foot forward in the third set and fought all the way, not giving an inch to the other.
The game could have gone either way, but IGO kept their cool and managed to beat the fighting boys of MYDC by 25 points to 23 points.
For emerging the champions, IGO walked away with the winners’ trophy and Rs 15,000 while runners up team MYDC were awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a trophy.
The best disciplined team title went to AMYC and they were awarded a cash prize of Rs 1000.
The best player title including a cash component of Rs 1000 went to Thuan Pamei of MYDC while the best spiker of the tournament title went to Sakhil of IGO with a cash prize of Rs 500.
The best blocker title went to Nawaz of IGO and carried a cash prize of Rs 500.
The tournament was organised by MYDC.

3rd Maklang Mahadeva Volleyball Meet One sided matches mark day

IMPHAL, Feb 17 : One sided matches marked three of the four matches played today at the 3rd Maklang Mahadeva Volleyball tourney underway at Sagolband Maklang road, with MYDC-B, YPA and AMYC notching up convincing wins in straight sets while the one played between KLYGC, Kamong and SWYC Santipur went to four sets.
In a keenly contested match, KLYGC, Kamong got the better of SWYC, Santipur in four sets, having to sweat it out in all the sets.
KLYGC were stretched to the limits to notch up a narrow win in the first set by the margin of 29-27.
In the second set, KLYGC had to put in all their best efforts to put aside the challenge of SWYC 25-17.
SWYC came back strongly in the third set to win the set 25-17.
However KLYGC kept their cool and managed to win the fourth set 25-20 and wrapped up the match. The other matches were one sided affairs with MYDC-B humiliating KYSU, Kairenbi- khok 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.
In the other matches, YPA Heranmei stumped SUWC Irengban 25-12, 25-14 and 25-9 while AMYC, Andro brushed aside LEWA Lamding 25-11, 25-13, 25-17.

BAKHE lift NYVA junior volleyball title

IMPHAL, Jan 13: BAKHE, Sanakeithel today beat IGO, Oinam by 14-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-18 points to lift the 4th State level Junior volleyball championship 2017 organised by Naorem Youth Volleyball Association under the auspices of All Manipur Volleyball Association at NYVA Naorem volleyball court.
Robinson Gangmei of BAKHE was adjudged the best player while Kh Amunao of ACTCL was declared the best defender. Md Sakhil Khan of IGO was presented the best blocker award while Thanakhampao Pamei of BAKHE was adjudged the best spiker and N Budhachandra of NYVA was the best setter.
The closing cum prizes presentation ceremony was attended by Khaidem Sundari Devi, Councillor, NMC ward No 14;  Naorem Mohen Singh, Councillor, NMC-13; N Rupachandra, secretary, UPF; L Ibomcha, Member, NMC-13; K Achouba, Member MNC Ward No 14 and Rupachandra Meitei, Member MNC Ward No 13 as the dignitaries.

Volleyball players selected

IMPHAL, Nov 8: The All Manipur Volleyball Association (AMVA) has announced the names of players who have been finally selected to represent the State in the 25th mini National volleyball championships to be held at BR Ambedkar Stadium, Murena, MP from Nov 20 to 24.
The selected volleyball players, as recommended by AMVA selection committee, are Thuankhampao Panmei (BAKHE), Md Sakil and MM Nawaz (IGO), S Inaoba (SWYC), Y Arbind (YMDO), H Romeshkumar (SEWA), Lh Thangmeiso and Kh Romi (KYSU), Ph Somananda (AMYC), A Bidyakumar and Ch Roshikumar (HDCCL) and Md Anisur (LSA).
T Labango (ALYPU) and M Dinku (NYVA) have been named as the reserved players.

AR organises inter-village football, volleyball tournament

IMPHAL, Aug 24: 10th Inter Village Football and Volleyball tournament was organised by 29 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) as assistance under the banner of Saibol Hengcham Assam Rifles Joupi Youth Association (SHAJYA) on the occasion of 70th Independence Day at Joupi in Chandel district. The tournament was inaugurated by SDO, Khengjoy.
A total of 16 teams from various villages participated in the tournament. The final matches were played on August 20. Commander of 28 Sector Assam Rifles was the chief guest for the final match, informed a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S).
Every match witnessed a thumping local support. Sahao Youth Club stood 1st in women’s volleyball while Nakong Youth Club came 1st in men’s volleyball. Men’s football title was won by SHAJYA Football Club, Joupi.
Brigadier Rajesh Kumar, SM, VSM, Commander 28 Sector Assam Rifles gave away prizes to the winning teams and appreciated enthusiasm and interest shown by each and every team in championship. He also commended efforts put in by the villagers in making championship a success.
