United we stand for Richard and Richards

With 88,384 members on a Facebook group(till this article went to the press), ‘humans’ from all over the globe have been showing their resentment, disappointment, outrage over the mysterious death of Loitam Richard. Yes, only humans as I believe those who ruthlessly killed the young to-be architect and those who support racism cannot be entitled as Humans!

An outrage reads: “If they love cricket so much then the culprits should be dragged to a cricket ground and should be beaten to death by the bats of their favourite cricketers!” Woopps!

Another one says, “What the *#@x government and the college is doing?? Are they eating sunflower seeds??”

Surely, people are furious! And want a speedy justice.

Saddened! No words to fill this column for the bereaved family and friends. However, plenty of words for those involved in the alleged murder! Well, not only my column will run out of the space but the whole newspaper too, if I had to write on these pathetically racist inhuman lot.

Nevertheless, I am elated that we all are standing in unity for the justice of Richard. And this time, Manipuris and Northeastern apart, I can see mainlanders too joining the cause.

Anji Gupta, a friend from the mainland India, posted on FB: “Whoever the culprit of Richard’s murder should be punished severely for trying to spread hatred among us!”

Surprisingly, another mainlander sent me an invite to join the FB group I was talking about- ‘Justice for Loitam Richard’.

My point is when some sick people (talking about racist here) as an act of racism take someone’s life, there are others too who belong to the same geographical states, caste, creed, religion who mingle, talk, play, work, enjoy with us. In short, the latter love peace unlike the former lot.

By the way, I am calling racists as sick because only mentally ill people can do such a heinous crime! They are sick, but these mental patients do not deserve pity of any degree!

In the name of racism, many Richards have been gruesomely assaulted, harassed, killed. North-easterns have been facing racism in the mainland India in the form rape, theft, murder amongst other. Recently, an NE girl was molested in Gurgoan, an opposite gender from NE was looted and beaten, another Manipuri girl raped! However, racism is not prevalent in India only, but we have been witnessing it in abroad also. For instance, the recent racial attacks in Australia, the US etc.
I believe that the kind of viral campaign, support, protest for the justice of Richard should also be done for every Richards who fall prey to racism.

And to the state government, I wish if it could establish a small organisation (like embassies in abroad) in each and every states of India to address the problems faced by its people specially students. Being on the spot and acting then and there only would be manifold effective than sending mere letters to the respective state governments! I am sure.

I am glad that united we are standing for Richard and hopefully for Richards too in the future. To all my readers, I request you all to be present today at the protest sites in Manipur, Delhi and Bangalore for the justice of brother Richard. I would be present, what about you?

laishram

Killer institute of Loitam Richard should not be allowed to come to Manipur for any educational fest or advertisement relating to admission until and unless matter is settled and punish the culprit.

Racism? Racism?

Racism? racism?.. i don't think that was a racism. The incident was not pre-planned, then how can you or i call it racism. Things just happened and happened to the worse. But, why not we also put the facts logically to study why things like that had happened? . . Racism is in your brain and in my brain and that's the reason why we look at things and drag things into racial mindset. . . what do you call of the killings that have done by our own people . . govt. officials, children and innocent girls raped and murdered . . . ok! ok! but pls give equal importance to all killings, rapes and kidnappings . . irrespective of their family backgrounds, race or religion. . .Why some get more importance whereas others are neglected and forgotten? . . .Are we not racial ????????
