Churches fellowship

IMPHAL, Sep 22: The Greater Kakching Churches Fellowship, an interdenominational forum of Churches in and around the Greater Kakching areas was formed and office bearers were commissioned today at its temporary office. The forum is a combined initiative and fellowship of 12 different churches including different communities. The fellowship has open space for like-minded churches of different communities to become part of the forum, said a statement.

The following members are the office bearers of the forum: Ramnath Chhetri – President, P Madhuchandra–Vice President, N Kumol – Secretary, Y Premjit – Jt Secretary and Bimol – Treasurer. The office bearers were selected in previous two consultative sittings and commissioned today by N Debendra Singh, member of Manipur State Minorities Commission. The leaders and members attended the commissioning ceremony from 12 different churches, it added.

Ebom L.

It is a good beginning that Greater Kakching Churches Fellowship, an interdenominational forum of Churches has started a pioneering work for minority. All the benefits that are meant for minority people are being used by the Muslim community only. I hope this interdenominational forum will bring awareness to Christians, particularly the Meitei Christians that there are immense opportunities given to the minority.

Mangal Meitei

I think there should be united Meitei Christian forum for the whole of Manipur. Unless we come together, we cannot fight for our rights. What happen with the demand for tribal status? Meitei Christians should continue to demand for tribal status. Remember, “united we stand and divided we fall”.

Pointer

Ebom has pointed out correctly that all the benefits that are meant for indigenous minority Manipuris are being used by the Muslim emigrant community only. Indigenous minority Manipuris are stupid! Cores of Rupees meant for them are not being noticed. I don’t think there will be any positive developments under the inefficient leadership of Rev. Devendro. If he is unable to fight for the rights of the indigenous minority Manipuris then let a capable Meitei Christian replace him.

Madhu Chandra

This joint fellowship is the outcome after effort of many years. I hope others will also adopt as it will bring unity and along with larger community. Now coming back to the role of minority that someone call pointer is pointing out. To get Minority commission was time consuemly effort, which need to be appreciated. Then to get a Christian member in the commission was another concern. Now what I suggest to Pointer is to bring up with the concern person rather that expressing in this plateform
