ICHAM felicitates
IMPHAL, Sep 22: Information Centre for Hill Areas Manipur (ICHAM) today a rousing reception ceremony for Kario Isaac, a participant from the State in the Super Fight League Challengers (SPL) and a gold medal winner of Thangta Championship held in J&K, Salam Rojita today at Eco Park, Luwangsangbam.
The felicitation programme was graced by MLA Preshaw Shimray; president of NIDSU N Opendro and pradhan of Luwangsangbam GP, S Kosheswor as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Preshaw Shimray said the Government of India has, of late, started looking for talented sports persons from Manipur after realising that snatching a medal in internation arenas would be impossible without Manipuri players.
The personal presence of DoNER Minister in sports related seminars and activities in Imphal in the recent days indicated that the Government of India has great interest in nurturing the potentials of sports persons of the State, the MLA said.
Underlining that lack of infrastructure and exposure as the reasons of retardation for many talented sports men of the State, Preshaw said the State sports persons would surely excel in the international sporting arenas given adequate infrastructure.
Kario Isaac was presented a memento and a cash reward of Rs 5000 while Rojita was presented with a memento and Rs 3000 by ICHAM.
