We are in the 21st century,
We are in one of the fastest developing country,
We are in the Globalization era,
We are in the Technological era,
However, we are facing enormous problems of basic necessities in our daily life.
Let’s take a look at some of our major requirements:-
Deplorable Road Conditions.
So many of our daily activities depend on road but it’s disheartening thing to see the road conditions are deplorable with well distributed of so many potholes. When it is raining heavily, the road look like a fish pond, sometime we feel like travelling in a small boat in a hustling way. And the dry season is about to come, the dust will filled the air, the house, the trees and the grass will look alike like painted with similar colour throughout the side of the road, sometime we can’t even see the next vehicle.
Road is one of the major source that serve the people. It’s a lifeline for almost everybody in Manipur. It is a strong backbone for the growth of our economy. But due to deplorable conditions of road, transportation become very tough and a big challenge for our development. The transportation cost shots up and retard the growing economy mainly in rural areas. This give discontentment to the rural people in any project or cash farming. Thus if we have a good network of road connections to every nook of the state, there will be a big improvement in our socio-economic development.
Therefore, Government must look into the matter for the welfare of the people. Every road need to be renovated. The construction and repairing work goes very slow. As a result, there is little improvement or more or less just remain the same. It is common that the potholes will appear even before completion of repairing. This should be taken as a serious matter. Immediate and proper care should be taken on landslide too. As Manipur hilly terrain is bound to have frequent landslide, most of the time we travel on the edge of the road.
Thus we very much in need to have a well developed road network connections, since construction of proper road is the root of all development.
Irregular Power Supply.
In this technological era, power became immensely necessary in any field of work, even without using technology power is our basic necessity. Recently Government had taken several measures and efforts to ensure regular power supply by introducing pre-paid meter system in some part of Imphal city. And by converting the power department into a corporation. There has been a report that power consumption had greatly reduced in the heart of Imphal city with the installing of per-paid meter system. In spite of all those measures, there has been frequent power cut, sometime it continues even for days. The concern department must do regular power check, who neglects should be given punitive action.
Let’s take a look at the remote area of the state. The power they receive is too little too less. They hardly receive three to four hours a day and not even a trace of power in a day. There has been frequent burnt and damages after which many villages will not receive power weeks and weeks even months
This is due to the negligence of the concern department who reluctant to carried out their duties. The department should do the needful in time.
Regular power supply in rural areas will greatly reduce deforestation and it will be a great help for the students. Regular power supply can ensure good improvement in our socio-economic development. Power development reforms programme has to be accelerated at faster rate. Government must take efficient and regular power supply as one of the top priority in infrastructure and developmental work.
Hope to see additional power supply from lower Subansiri (Arunachal Pradesh) Bangaigaon (Assam)
And Palatana (Tripura) mechanism became fully operational.
Irregular and negligence of Government employees in their office duties.
There are Government employees who totally dedicate their work for the people, attending regular in their office and carried out their duties tirelessly. However, there are many governmental office left unattended even for a week or more. Some come only when they feel like attending and what more, they will come like for inspection. Some governmental offices are filled with spider net and full of dust like an old abandoned house. The public are left to suffer. Sometime people spend even for a week to do just a small piece of work for waiting them to come to their office. One of the most awkward attitude by the government employees towards public is that, they will make people to wait for hours and hours, even though they doesn’t have other work but keep busying in nothingness.
These are all practice of corruptions. Concern higher authorities should check this matter and deal it seriously. These are some of the main drawbacks of changing our society into a better one. And yet more, many of the Government Schools and colleges are left idle. They exist just for name sake. There are hardly few or any students and few or any classes throughout the year. If all those Schools and colleges are well implemented then the literacy rate will be soaring up and society will experience a big change. As education is the engine that can make a move the whole society but this important ones are left as the least.
When will the Government look into all those matters with some seriousness to implement them? What make the Government so Stubborn to check all those act of corruptions? Honourable Chief Minister, his honourable Ministers, co-workers, colleagues and friends should take a walk one day or rather day and look into all these matters.
