MCSCC successful candidates feted

IMPHAL, Oct 22: One does not need to be a class topper and gold medallist to crack MCS examination, said MCS successful candidates.

It was stated during a reception ceremony of eight MCS successful candidates of Sagolband AC organised in their honour by Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee at the community hall of Sagolband Bojoygovinda today.

Sagolband A/C MLA RK Imo and RK Rajmani were the chief guest and president of the function.

Former Principal of Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Thokchom Priyojit, former Director of Science and Technology and Environment, Sorokhaibam Chaoba, HRD Higher Secondary School Principal L Kamakhyakumar and former Principal of GP Women’s College, Haorakcham Rajen were also present at occasion as guests of honour.

According to the succesful candidates, one does not necessarily need to be a class topper and gold medalist to crack the MCS examination.

Apart from hard work and maintaining self confidence, the succesful candidates also mentioned about the importance of sports and co-curricular activities.

Speaking at the occasion, RK Imo urged the succesful candidates to work without partiality for the welfare of the general public leaving aside all corrupted activities.

Meanwhile, Pangambam Shantikumar Singh who has been selected in the Manipur Civil Services, Combined Competitive Examination -2010 was feted in a grand reception function held at Tentha Multiplex Ground, Tentha Khongbal at 2 p.m today followed by the release of Sumang Lila - Vote Loikhre, Landi Loidri.

Pangambam Shantikumar is the son of Late P Angojao Singh and Purnimashi Devi from Tentha Khunou, Thoubal District. He became the first in the village who has been selected in such a prestigious position.

The felicitation function was attended by the Secretary of the Manipur State Minorities Commission Dr Md Raheijuddin Sheikh as the Chief Guest, Media Officer (Retd) of the Medical Department N Landhon Singh as the President and Principal of the Elite Education Centre, Tentha M Ingoba Singh as the Guest of Honour.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Sheikh expressed the need of having some representatives in the State Administrative Department from the village. He urged the selected candidate from Tentha to be sincere in executing the works assigned to him by the Government and also do the needful for the people of the locality. Participating at the interaction programme with the local students, P Shantikumar advised the students to work with full confidence, sincerity, strong ambition and hardworking to achieve the goal.
