So, Pudu is the golden retriever and Jessi is the owner. Or rather, Jessi is Pudu’s sister. And like all naughty little brothers, he can be up to no good. He will fetch her favourite shoes; carry it around just for the fun of annoying her. He considers it a big success if he can disturb her while she is watching T.V. or taking a nap. He is often seen roaming around the house, maybe planning for his next mischief. But those big eyes, that wet nose and that funny look on his face are all it takes to laugh away his pranks. Yes, dull moments are history when he is around!
A typical day in Pudu’s life begins at around 6a.m. Then he can be seen wagging his tail, going around every family member, perhaps wishing a “Very Good Morning” and then he would be taken for his morning walk! Pudu prefers to be groomed before taking his breakfast of pedigree, milk and boiled eggs.
Then, he would isolate himself for a while as the morning rush-hour begins at Pudu’s household; only to be seen when Jessi is about to leave for school! Pudu really enjoys his afternoon naps, waking up to greet Jessi as she returns home.
‘Pudu’, as his name suggests is quite a funny retriever with fluffy ears. He is. always happy to have visitors and to make them play with him. Of course, some would get terrified at his sharp jaws and thundering bark. But to Jessi, he always remains that small puppy who came into her life some years back. He was only a few months old then, so small and could hardly walk. He had to be fed every four hours with ‘baby food’ and special care had to be taken in the icy-cold weather at the time of his arrival. At around 6-months of age, he was sent to “Dog’s Training Centre” at Tangkham. The little one had to stay there for around three-months and was visited by his ‘family’ on Sundays. Then finally, he came back- a little more mature, a little more disciplined!
It’s ‘really touching how a four-legged furry friend can bring so much happiness in life’s highway. Things would really have been different if ‘JESSI DIDN’T HAVE A PUDU’! He is not really a human, so maybe he doesn’t understand everything. But when he does something, simple it may be like fetching a ball, he does it with a lot of enthusiasm and conviction. And that can always be an inspiration. Once somebody said,” We give dogs only what we can spare but in return, they give us their ALL”. Doesn’t that sound true?
hi Pudu and you jessi too......well, the final punch is eye catching! a dog is the only one who loves you more than he loves himself..........
