Infamy at Sangai fest, assault slur on Nasir
IMPHAL, Nov 26 : Yet another case of infamy was staged inside the venue of the ongoing Sangai State Festival, when Agriculture Minister Md Nasir allegedly assaulted a member of the Youth Congress, Alam Azad there today evening.
According to Alam Azad, he was eating at a foodstall when Md Nasir came shouting ‘Do you know who I am ?’ and assaulted him.
However a worker of the Minister said that the incident occured when Alam Azad passed derogatory words against the Minister while he (Nasir) was inspecting the food stalls this evening as a special invitee.
The incident occurred inside Food Stall No 58 around 7pm. The festival venue was swiftly turned to a ‘drama’. According to sources, Congress worker Alam Azad, along with Youth Congress president Amir Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary Amin Shaha and MOBC officials were dining at a food stall.
The Minister came and attacked the Congress worker unprovoked moments after Amin Shah left the place.
The Minister’s escorts assaulted onlookers who interfered to pacify the Minister.
Meanwhile, talking to reporters later, Congress worker Alam Azad strongly condemned the ‘uncalled for’ behaviour of the minister and demanded his the authority to immediately remove the minister from his post.
Subsequent to the incident, the stall where the incident happened was pillaged badly.
The Minister's worker on the other hand said that after Alam Azad verbally attacked the Minister, the other workers of the Minister intervened and a minor scuffle broke out between the workers and Alam Azad.

Where is the Maturity? We know how much power in Manipur (a land of lawlessness) has but exhibiting at the Exhibition was totally uncalled for. He could have shown maturity and further disciplinary action could have taken against the worker. There is possibility of hidden agenda behind this scuffle. The responsibility of Minister is not just show off his power but use those power for the betterment of people or use them to tackle such situations legally. If he himself is not believe in such law which can tackle such small dispute, how a general public believe in such Law. Media should intervene till a verdict is reached. While Alam Azad is a lady killer( renowned and incorrigible), a hardened gunda with all sorts of dark and dirty links, a power monger, looking for a loop to climb up by whatsoever means he finds would give him a way; and Nasir is no less in bad demeanor. Though I have no right to talk of their personal life, it is very imperative for us to see through their life history, so that we easily decipher, the strength that they carry or the expectations that we can keep on them. Perhaps we see a blank future from both of them. It is learnt that Nasir has already announced that he would not meet any Muslims in Delhi, coz he knows, people of intellect (not like an idiot like him) would counter him sensibly and make way to know his plans to loot the booty which otherwise is in fact the heavy responsibility of him to build the Muslim society, by virtue of being a leader, a representative and a responsible public figure. But he has turned his face, elections are over, the sympathy that people have shown to him has been forgotten. He is now the typical money thirsty Manipuri minister looking out for any opportunity to embezzle public funds, find out corrupt practices to earn extra booty, buy flats in Okhla, Delhi, etc. etc. It is said that when people like to do something immoral or do something mischief, he/she would show arrogance to people around, just as a means to get people away from him/her. This is the technique he has started employing. So pity, he is simply ruining his own career. Both of them need an apology not to any people who were involved, but to the public, and particularly, the Muslim society. Because they have defaced the image of the Muslim society, when it is their responsibility to crack new ideas to bring a change to the downtrodden society. Shame on both.
