IMPHAL, Nov 26 : The ground works for the talks between the Government and the Kuki militant outfits are underway and the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) has been informed about this development by the Government.
KNO spokesman Seilen Haokip disclosed to Newmai News Network this evening that the files have been processed by the Government as part of the ground works for the talks.
“We have been informed by the Manipur Government officials that the files have been processed and that hectic ground works are under- way for the talks to start,” stated the KNO leader. When asked if officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) have directly contacted the KNO, Seilen Haokip said, “No, we have not been intimated by the MHA officially nor do we have any knowledge of the Central officials visiting Manipur.” When asked if the KNO is hopeful of the talks, Seilen Haokip said, “Talks are inevitable as we have reached this stage now.”
Meanwhile, Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) has said that the Kukis do not claim others’ lands.
When asked by Newmai News Network today about the numerous statements from Naga organisations pertaining to territories, KSDC leader George Guite said, “We are not claiming other peoples’ lands. Our claims on lands are supported by documentary proofs. It is a historical fact that whatever land we claimed belong to the Kukis. We will never do what is not legitimate.” George Guite further said that the Kukis avoid any communal approach.
Meanwhile, the KSDC is minutely following the development in connection with the proposed talks between the Government and the Kuki outfits. “We are closely observing and we are looking forward for talks.
We are hopeful of the talks taking place but at the moment we cannot say anything but only to see for some days whether the government is sincere in its approach or not,” said George Guite.
The KSDC had called ‘public blockade’ from November 17 evening to press for the talks with the two umbrella organisations of the Kuki militants—KNO and UPF—but suspended its agitation on November 22 following an assurance from the government that the talks would be started after the ongoing Parliament Seesion.
our Lord God be with you keep on going....never look back!! Kathange ka NAM.
May the true God judge all the kukis who are claiming for statehood. If the land as claimed by KSDC is real then may God give them a statehood within 2013 but if they are claiming the land of Nagas and other then may God shower KSDC and kukis with miseries, poverty, shame, decimation, hunger, diseases, suffering and humiliation. Yes the true God will judge.
telsings are like dogs
Absurd concept..Dont you think my Kuki brothers??. Talk will never work out between KSDC and GOM. Its just absurd!!We are being use by Meities to spread hatred among tribals. KSDC demand will never be achieved. You know why..Because the land belongs to Nagas.
Being a Human Being I ain't on side of KUKIS or NAGAS or MEITEI. However, for KUKIS, where is your BRAIN? You are Real Burmese Refugees. Go back to your Land of Chin in Burma and ask for your State there and not here in MANIPUR. You thick skin people of steel face and shameless people. Only only Clan fighting for KUKI LAND and no one is supporting you since you were Refugees and everyone knows that.
Go ahead Dr Seilen we are with you. We own the land and we will press upon our right. As for the sadist people who are spitting venom here can do so as long as they want. Don't give a damn!
What an absurd when someone says Kuki is refugee from Chin state of Burma. From historical point of view the present land of Kuki is at one point of time known as the Kuki country. Divide and rule policy of the mighty British had fragmented the once unified Kuki land and its people in three countries viz. in Bangladesh, India and Myanmar. There are many historical evidence and proof to substanted our claim which is legitimate.
You dumbass which historical script you are reffering.Get the reality losers,KUKI clan never had a inch of land in Manipur...they grabbed all the lands of others people.Everybody knows KUKI's were tribe of below proverty level working for theirs masters.Whatever you claim now here are gained by killing people, extortion, murder, kidnapping and corruption...Dont dream of KUKILAND....its a day dreaming.....
@Seth Kipgen We never support your demand though we are living in CCpur. We live together with kukis, hmar, vaiphai, thadoa, gangte...etc..we all want to live in peace and we do not support Haokip demanding for Kukis state since it is wrong. Our kuki land is not here in any part of North East, hence we are not supported by GOI, GOM or any other Govt since our forefather was used by Britisher as laborer and our forefather landed in NE eastern states with the help of Britisher to invade princely state of Manipur. Since the valley was covered by Nagas hils, the Britishers could not enter Manipur until they fight the Nagas in hills. Britishers use our forefather to fight for them (Britishers ) and in return we got nothing from them since we are poor. Our forefather struggle for their lives and accept to become a christian from buddhist. We want to live and we started mission with the help of white people. Meitei were not arrogant and not easy to convert from beliefs to christian. Our forefather were driven out from Valley for spreading gospel. Tangkhul Nagas were easily converted and they are the 1st one to convert to christainity among naga taribes. If any kukis community leader want to know of our forefather, please visit my home. I am at age(d) and freekle. I have written all the thing I can remember during reign of wwI and wwII about we thick flat nose (kukis) came from. I still have a family line and relative in Yangoon after they left from Burma. I have already met some Nagas and Meitei elders and I ask forgiveness. UGs will never bring peace but hatred among people.
