Road destruction and pollution
Sir,
We, the representatives of Lagol Hill people in the out skirts of Imphal City, humbly submit the following for favour of excellent consideration and necessary order as to redress against our acute grievances.
That, we are aggrieved by the daily dust and noise pollution compounded with destruction meted out to the pucca roads in this difficult location. The hard won attention of the authorities concerned that provided pucca roads have all been ruined miserably by the perpetrators of private agencies running different business enterprises.
That, heavy vehicles carrying earth, stones, sands, timber, fuel, wood, water., supplies and other goods have caused severe damages to the cutcha or pucca roads by their daily movements.
That, the vehicular movements including passenger vehicles and business transportation have caused immense noise and dust pollution harbouring perilous health hazards.
And that the people of this area are facing serious threat to living and public health hazards rendered by pollution and road damages which are carried out daily unabated:
In the light of the above facts, we earnestly beseech your high Office to kindly order to:
(i) Restrict/Prohibit heavy Vehicles ply in these foothill approach roads.
(ii) Install traffic island at the crossing point Shija-Langol Housing Complex, Lamphel & langol foot hill PWD roads.
(iii) Constitute inquiry Committee to find out facts about the adverse factors confronting public life and security.
