Uniqueness of Ima Chenghi

Sir, Let’s revive the use of Chenghi (a traditional, indigenous, eco friendly hair care shampoo). Chenghi, as we know, is the residual water that we get after washing local rice grain before cooking. It is either applied as raw or boiled with differentlocally available herbs like Khongjai Napi, Sangbrei, Haona, Hanurei, Lallukok, Yenpat Mana, Khamela, Kege Angangba, Heikru, Heibi etc.Years of using chemically treated shampoo, conditioners and other hair care products had left my hair and scalp damaged. With the launching of Ima Chenghi, I found myself drawn to it as it serves dual purposes. Firstly, using a hair care routine that promises the goodness of the local herbs and the fragrant, glutinous rice of our very own Manipur and secondly, yet important, a cost effective product that can be use by one and all. This unique task has been taken up by Shri Sanasam Birendra Singh, retired Functional Manager, Commerce & Industries, Government of Manipur of Sangaiprou FCI Godown road. I have been using it regularly for the past few days and have found it quite useful. It can be given as a gift to the ningols of our place on the Ningol Chakkouba day. It can also be given as a token of love to ourn near and dear ones.Let the fragrance of Ima Chenghi be spread to the rest of the world. I wish Birendra and his team a grand success in his unique venture.
Yours sincerely,
