thoubal, Apr 15: A married woman, identified as Kshetrimayum (n) Sagolsem (o) Roji Devi (30) w/o Sagolsem John alias Singajit of Charangpat Nepra Compeny under Wangkhem AC, remained untraceable after she went out to cast her vote in the Outer PC election held on April 11, reports our correspondent. She is a mother of two daughters and one son. Following the incident, public of Thoubal Awang Leikai (maternal family members of the woman) gathered at Thoubal Bazar in large numbers and blocked the road (NH-102) demanding to find the missing woman and the persons involved in the disappearance of the woman by the concerned authority. Many women vendors also took part in the protest.
One of the women protestors, while speaking to the media persons, said that the maternal family members of the woman were informed of her disapperance at 2 pm on the same day and a missing report was filed at police station at 3 pm.
She further said that it is very unfortunate that the whereabouts of the woman could not be traced till date while alleging that her husband was concealing the truth behind her disappearance as he was constantly changing his statement.
Meanwhile, a JAC was formed in connection with the disappearance of the woman and cautioned that intense agitation including road block at Thoubal Bazar (NH-102) and boycott of 17th LS election will be initiated if the authority concerned fails to deliver its promises.
