Jr State Level Hockey: Ideal Club, YCCIC post contrasting wins in women's clashes

IMPHAL, Oct 11 : Ideal Club, Tera edged past SYUC by 2-1 goals while YCCIC, Kontha Ahallup notched up an emphatic 12-0 win against MEIRAA, Bashikhong in today's junior women's matches of the 7th Junior Men and Women State Level Hockey Tournament being organise by Manipur Hockey at Hockey Stadium Khuman Lampak.
In the first match of the day, L Ritu (42') and Sylvia (48') scored a goal each to help Ideal Club win 2-1 over SYUC, Uchekon. The lone goal of the Uchekon side was scored by Sh Tanu in the 59th minute of the match.
Meanwhile in a one sided clash, Kundali opened up the scoring in the 9th minute of the match before L Natalie doubled their advantage with the second goal the very next minute. S Roshibina then took charge of the attack and chipped in five goals alone (14', 31', 35', 49', 50') to ensure the huge win against MEIRAA. M Priya also added two goals (39', 44') in YCCIC's tally while her team mate W Athoi (41') and K Priyanka (58') added a goal each.
Elsewhere in the Group A match of the men's competition, G Dingku shone with 4 goals (19', 33', 36', 38) to help HU, Lairikyengbam Leikai seal a comfortable 12-1 win against SYUC. The other goals for the winning side was scored by W Nirajkumar (18'), W Derish (20'), Ricky (21', 39'), Shilhenba (34'), K Somikanta (40'), A Suresh (50') and Y Bidyananda (57').
