LMYVA, Ideal Club, Model Club and St Anthony emerge victorious

IMPHAL, Oct 11 : LMYVA, Lalambung earned a hard fought 74-72 win against Model Club, Chingamkha while Ideal Club, Tera  thrashed Kakching Basketball Association 66-35 today in the men's league matches of the ongoing 23rd Senior State Basketball Championship organised by Manipur Basketball Association at Nahabam Basketball Court. The day also saw Model Club and St Anthony women's teams earn victories against their respective rivals.
In the men's edge of the seat Group A league match, Tutu made the most of the scoring with 21 points in his name for LMYVA followed by Kemlin (19), Borish (11) and Lubert (10). Tenson (6), Ojit (5) and Rajesh (2) also contributed to LMYVA's tally in their 74-72 win against Model Club whose Vishal S took the centre-stage with 28 points and Ch Ketanjit  scored 20 points. Ch Victor (16), L Cherish (6) and P Dinesh (2) of the losing side also made their names on the scoresheet.
Meanwhile in the one sided Group B league match, Ideal Club, Tera rode on  points gathered by Saratchandra (16), Peter (12), Ksh Pratap (10), Lakhpati (10), Ksh Tinku (6), Ksh Rakesh (5), Shaneet (3), Panit (2) and Mydrinson (2) to thump Kakching Basketball Association 66-35.
The score for the Kakching side was collected by Y Binand (12), L Aryan (9), L Amarjit (5), N Loyanganba (4), Th Nganba (3) and Ch Chinglemba (2).
Meanwhile in the first women's clash of the day, Model Club beat BSC, Bamon Leikai by 22-18 points as Naobi topscored with 7 points and Th Maheshori and A Rita added 4 points apiece. Premita and Nganthoi also added 2 points each as M Arunadha collected a point to make it 22 at the end..
BSC's Sanjita scored 8 points followed by M Niklen's (6), Krishnakumari (2) and Sophia (2).
In the women's fourth match staged latter, St Anthony downed ESU 29-25 as Chanchan H made the highest score of 9 points and Debora, Caroline and Hiron scored 5 points each. L Hongray (3) and A Neyly (2) also scored for the Chingmeirong side.
ESU on the other hand collected 25 points through Kh Omega (10), S Kheroda (7), S Sanatombi (6) and G Lucybina (2)
