MCA is well prepared for 2019-20 season : S Priyananda

IMPHAL, Oct 11 : Manipur Cricket Association (MCA) is very much prepared for tournaments and other programmes to be conducted for the season  2019-20, said  the secretary of the association, S Priyananda today in a press meet held at Hotel Christina. The meet was also attended by newly elected vice president of Manipur Cricket Association, L Vinay; joint secretary Bobin and other officials.
Speaking to the media, Priyananda maintained that Manipur Cricket Association is set to organise Sir Churachand Singh, KSCI, CBE Memorial Multi Days Cricket Tournament in honour of the cricket pioneer besides MCA Elite, MCA Plate Group, U-23, U-21 and U-16 cricket tournaments for both men and women. The schedule for the said tournament will be release soon, he added. Although the association failed to follow proper calendar in the previous season owing to unavailability of grounds, inclement climatic conditions and renovation of Luwangpokpa  Cricket Stadium, the association is looking forward to successful conduct of tournaments in the 2019-20 season, he stated while referring that Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Model Higher Secondary and Oriental College ground, Moijing ground, Langthabal ground, Heinoupok cricket ground and Ngairangbam cricket ground are in good condition to hold various tournaments.
The secretary also urged cricket enthusiasts and lovers of the State desiring to conduct and sponsor tournaments to communicate with Manipur Cricket Association in advance so that tournaments could be allocated in right place in the season calendar. He also expressed hope that Manipur could produce many eminent players in the near future if support come pouring in from all sections of the society.
