ESU, SRWC, Lamka Hooper script wins in men's clashes

IMPHAL, Oct 13 : ESU,Wangkhei; SRWC, Sega Road and Lamka Hooper emerged victorious in today's men's matches of the ongoing 23rd Senior State Basketball Championship being organised by Manipur Basketball Association at Nahabam Basketball Court.
In the first match of the men's competition (Group A) played in the morning ESU seal a hard fought 51-50 win against LMYVA, Lalambung after dominating the first two periods.
Casper topscored with 20 points for ESU while his team mate Rungsung made a huge contribution of 16 points besides L Boy (6), Y Bablu (3), S Robinson (3) and N Rajiv (3) making their place on the scoresheet to make it 51 at the end.
LMYVA's scores were made by Tutu (19), Kemlin (14), Lubert (7), Ojit (6), Rajesh (3) and Borish (1).
Meanwhile in the men's second match (Group B) played latter, SRWC downed Kakching Basketball Association by 43-31 points as Jackson (12), Sachilachi (10) and SK Markendev (10) made the most of the scoring.
Arya (11) and M Chinglensana (10) led the scoring for the losing team. M Ashchabarta grabbed 6 points for the same team as Jaystar and Sunder finished with 2 points each.
In the men's third match staged in the evening Lamka Hoppers defeated CYLC 43-31.
The day also saw ESU women's beat Model Club by 37-33 points after making a huge comeback in the latter half of the game.
Kh Omega made the most of the scoring for ESU with 12 points in her name while S Kheroda earned 7 points. S Sanatombi (6), H Sanjota (4) and A Luxmi (2) also scored for ESU in this match.
Model Club's Rita stole the show scoring 14 points while Th Maheshori (7), Anuradha (4), Premita (4) also made their names on the scoresheet.
