ASSA win 3-1 to claim DFA Thoubal 1st Divn League title

IMPHAL, Oct 14 : ASSA, Sangaiyumpham completed their DFA Thoubal First Division League campaign with a 3-1 win against PALYC, Phundrei to amass 14 points from 6 matches and earn the top honour of the tournament.
ASSA which carved out a 1-0 win against YDC, Khoirom started the game on a positive note scoring the opener early in the 2nd minute thanks to Md Arwas' fine finish and led the first half 1-0.
PALYC toiled hard to draw level and their efforts paid dividend in the 48th minute with Md Nawaz Khan scoring the equaliser but ASSA rallied back as its player Md Mukeem converted a fine effort in the 50th minute before scoring his second in the 58th minute to make it 3-1.
The scoreline remained unchanged as ASSA did well to tackle all PALYC effort in the remainder of the game.
YDC, Khoirom finished second in the 7 team league tournament with 12 points from 4 wins and 2 draws.
