MATA-AITA Super Series Aryan Bora, Tushar Paul sail into boys singles quarter finals

IMPHAL, Oct 14 : Aryan Bora and Tushar Paul defeated their respectively rivals to book their place in the boys singles quater finals at the MATA-AITA Super Series 2019 which kicked off today at Officers' Club Tennis Court, Lamphelpat.
Aryan Bora secured a 7-6 (2), 6-1 win against Aritro Ghosh today to move into the last 8 round while Tushar Paul managed an easy 6-2, 6-1 win against Ramansh Sharma in another round two clash. Mohd Yusuf Seer, Shanker Heisnam and Medhansh Jain also reached the quarter final without breaking a sweat as their rivals did not turn up.
In the first round clashes of the day, Neel Niranj Joglekar outlasted Prasurjya Borah 6-2, 6-0 and Senjam Ashwajit eased to 6-4, 6-2 win against Devabrat Das to move into second round.
Girls Singles
Prapurna Veda Raju thrashed Nandini Laishram 6-0, 6-1 in a second round clash to set up quarter final date with Aneesha Mukherjee who clinched a 7-6 (1), 6-2 win against Anisha Pandey in another second round clash staged today. The day also saw, Maryam Seraj prevail 6-0, 6-0 against Ananya Gurumayum; Ashmita Mitra outlast Dhanipriya Deori 6-4, 6-4; Nemha Sara Kispota drub Tanishqa Patar 6-0, 6-2 and Justina Borgohain get the better of Yumnam Thoibi 6-0, 6-0 to move into the last 8 round of the girls singles competition.
On the other hand, Pooja Saikhom defeated Chirom Maxila 6-0, 6-0 to set up second round clash with Ika Raju Kanumuri tomorrow.
