23rd Senior State Basketball BSC to meet St Anthony in women's ultimate clash

IMPHAL, Oct 14 : BSC, Bamon Leikai will lock horns with St Anthony in the women's final of the 23rd Senior State Basketball Championship 2019 which is organised by Manipur Basketball Association at Nahabam Basketball Court.
BSC managed the final spot although they go down 22-33 today in the hands of St Anthony. The day also saw St Anthony, Ideal Club and Sega Road Welfare Association (SRWA) win in men's league matches.

St Anthony had a dismal start to the game but made their way back from the second period onwards to beat BSC 33-22 today. Caroline led the scoring for the team with 15 points in her name followed by Leishimi (6) and Hiron (4). Chonchon and Deborah also scored 3 points apiece for the winning side while Luliene managed 2 points.
BSC on the other hand, earned 22 points with the help of Sanjita (8), M Niklen (8), Sophiya (4) and Diana (2).
Men's clashes
In the men's Group A clash staged today, St Anthony survived late scare to down YOSC, Khurai 54-49. Job topscored for St Anthony scoring 24 points alone while John Pao also managed double digit score with 14 points in his name. Yursem (6), Soreingam (4), Somi (4) and Geetchandra (2) also made their names on the scoresheet to ensure the 54-49 victory for the Chingmeirong team.
YOSC, Khurai's scores were made by Victor (16), Meiraba (12), Tarun (11), Basil (6) and Naocha (4).
In the Group B league match of the day, Ideal Club beat Lamka Hoopers 54-41 thanks to concerted effort by Ksh Rakesh (16), Lakhpati (14), Ksh Tinku (11), Ksh Pratap (7) and Rajesh (6).
Lamka Hoopers on the other hand fetched 41 points riding on Kam Lian (16), TC Johny (11), Siam Muang (6), Mawi Khan (4), Hou Sian Thang (2) and Dou Malsanin (2).  Meanwhile in another match of the day, SRWA thrashed CYLC 67-39 in a one sided encounter. Dr SK Markan made the most of the scoring for the winning team with 26 points in his name while Suraj followed suit to add 19 points.
