FootGal 2019: Quarter finals line-up completed

Avoi FC and CDS FC earned the Quarter Finals berth of the ongoing FootGal tournament organised by District Administration, Churachand-pur in furtherance of BBBP initiative at Rayburn High School campus tonight.
Avoi FC came from behind to notch a 2-1 victory against Phualva FC in an exciting and decisive last Pool F league match tonight. The two sides started on a positive note as the match was a do or die for both the teams. It was T Angela who drew the first blood as she handed a lead to Phualva FC in the 18th minute. However, the celebration was short-lived as Kimnunmawi of Avoi FC found the back of the net in the next minute to restore parity. The two sides went to the break with a 1-1 draw.
The restart of the match saw some fine passes, missed shots and saves from both ends. After a thrilling encounter, Chingthianlun struck one for Avoi FC in the 33rd minute to wrap the match in style. Even as Phualva FC made frantic efforts to find the equaliser, their efforts were thwarted by their rivals' defence.
Meanwhile, St. Stephen HS FC forfeited their last league match to CDS FC. CDS were granted entry into the next round.
Tomorrow's first QF encounter at 5 pm will be between Lamka Sports Club (LSC) and Rayburn FC while Victor Rest Farm FC face Lawmvual Lungtuak FC in the second match. Lenlai Club and Avoi FC will lock horns in the third round while HoMES FA are set against CDS in the last QF encounter.
