MATA-AITA Super Series H Bushan, S Bhicky cruise into boys' singles semis

IMPHAL, Oct 15 : Manipur's Bushan Haobam and Bhicky Sagolshem posted impressive wins in quarter finals to ease into boys singles semi-finals at the AITA-MATA Super Series which is underway at Officers' Club Tennis Court, Lamphel along with Aryan Bora and Medhansh Jain.
Bhicky Shagolshem who sealed an easy 6-1, 6-0 win against Neel Neeranj Joglekar in a second round clash today, booked the semi-final berth with a comfortable 6-0, 6-1 win against Tushar Paul today in the last 8 round. Bhicky will now face Aryan Borah who outlasted Aritro Ghosh 6-3, 6-3 today,  tomorrow in the semi-final.
Meanwhile, Bushan Haobam eased to a 6-1, 6-0 win against Shanker Heishnam today to cruise into the semi-finals. Bushan reached the quarter finals beating Ashwajit Senjam 6-1, 6-1 in a quarter final match today.
Bushan will meet Medhansh Jain. Interestingly Medhansh haven't faced any opponent yet as he got a bye in the first round and a walk over in the second round before getting another bye in the last 8 round.
Girls Singles
Prapurna Veda Raju and Maryam Seraj also extended their winning run at the tournament to book their last 4 round berths today.
Prapurna Veda Raju reached the semi-final with a 6-1, 6-4 win against Aneesha Mukherjee today in a quarter final clash. She will meet Maryam Seraj, who overwhelmed Ashmita Mitra 6-0, 6-0 today in another quarter final clash of the day, in the semi-final tomorrow. The day also saw Kanumuri Ika Raju thrash Pooja Saikhom 6-1, 6-2, to set up quarter final clash with Nemha Sara Kispota.
Sumeira Jaiswal also made it to the quarter finals of the girls singles competition with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph over Alyona Tyagi in a second round clash today.
Girls Doubles
Prapurna Veda Raju and Ika Raju Kanumuri pair got a bye to set up semi-final clash with Maryam Seraj and Nemha Kispotta who outclassed Anisha Pandey and Nandini Laishram combination 6-0, 6-1 today in a quarter final clash.
Tyagi Alyona and Aneesha Mukherjee also emerged 7-5, 7-5 winners against Dhani Priya Deori and Yumnam Thoibi pair to set up semi-final date with Tanisqa Patar and Justina Borgohain pair who outlasted the combination of Saikhom Pooja and Ananya Guruaribam 6-4, 6-2 in another quarter final clash staged today.
