AITA-MATA Super Series: Bushan Haobam clinches boys singles title

IMPHAL, Oct 17 : Bushan Haobam defeated Bhicky Sagolshem in a closely fought final encounter to today clinch the boys singles title at the AITA-MATA Super Series for U-16 boys and girls  organised by Manipur Tennis Association at Officers' Club Tennis Court, Lamphel under the auspices of All India Tennis Association.
Bushan faced a stiff opposition his doubles partner Bhicky in the final match staged today but emerged on top with 7-5, 7-6 (5) finish to claim the ultimate title.
The girls singles title went to Veda Raju Prapurna who thumped  Justina Borgohain 6-2, 6-1 in the summit clash today. Veda Raju Prapurna also went on to claim doubles title along with Ika Raju Kanumuri as the pair strolled 6-0, 6-1 past Tanisqa Patar and Justina Borgohain in the final match staged today.
N Praveen Singh, DC Imphal West graced the prize distribution ceremony of the tennis tournament which began on October 14 and handed out prizes to the participants.
