Sub-Jr and Cadet Judo Nationals: Manipur continue to top tally with 14 medals

IMPHAL, Oct 17 : Manipur continued to reign medal tally of the Sub-Junior and Cadet National Judo Championships-2019 which is being hosted by Manipur Judo Association under the supervision of Judo Federation of India at Indoor Stadium Khuman Lampak with a total of 14 medals including 5 gold medals.
Cadet Boys' events
Manipur's N Sheetal Singh grabbed the +66 kg event gold beating Pathak Pranav of Punjab in the final today while Aman of Haryana and Rajat Singh of Jammu and Kashmir who made it upto the semi-finals settled for the bronze medals.
In the -35 kg event, Delhi's Anuraj won the gold beating UP's Kartik in the final.  Haryana's Surya and Andhra Pradesh's Gourav were able to win the bronze medals in this event.
Ayush Kumar Singh of UP claimed the -45 kg category gold beating Haryana's Tanuja Benywal in the final today while Punjab's Prince Kumar and Andhra Pradesh's Narasimha Naik got the bronze medals.
Cadet Girls' events
Punjab's Ishroop Harang won the +57 kg gold beating Chhattisgarh's opponent in the final while while L Dugunia Devi of Manipur and Shivani of Maharashtra-B grabbed the bronze medals.
Haryana's Simran bagged the -36 kg girls title beating West Bengals' Aishwarya Roy in the final.
Manipur's Th Manoti Devi settled for the silver as she went down in the -40 kg final against Ankita Naghera of Gujarat in the final. Maharashtra-B and Rajasthan players bagged the bronze medals in this event.
Manipur's Ng Dipapati also added a bronze medal to State's tally as Makwana Maheruk of Gujarat outshone Chandigarh's Shradha Gosh-wami in the -57 kg event final. Nirali of J&K bagged the other  bronze medal.
