2nd Special Gram Sabha meeting of Wangoo GP held

Kakching, Oct 17: The 2nd Special Gram Sabha Meeting of Wangoo Gram Panchayat, Langmeidong CD Block, Kakching District was held at Wangoo LYA Community Hall today on the agenda 'Finalization and Approval of Gram Panchayat Development Programme (GPDP) for the year 2020-21' and 'Public Hearing on Forest Rights Act 2006'.
The Gram Sabha organized by Wangoo Gram Panchayat was attended by MLA Sugnu AC K Ranjit Singh; pradhan Wangoo Gram Panchayat L Sharat alias Tona Meitei and ex-pradhan of the said GP A Heithumba as presidium members.
During the Gram Sabha meeting, officials of different departments viz Social Welfare Dept, ICDS Dept, Health Dept, CAF & PD Dept, Co-operative Dept, Minor Irrigation Dept, Agriculture Dept, Horticulture Dept, PHED Dept, Veterinary Dept and Forest Dept presented various schemes taken up by each department to the gathering.
Various decisions were also taken during the meeting which include formation of 7 Committee to protect and preserve biodiversity in Wangoo forest area, prevent killing of wildlife and stop encroachment in Wangoo forest area.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA K Ranjit Singh said that such Gram Sabha meeting made the people learnt about various schemes and programme taken up by different departments of Govt of Manipur.
