STC BSF observes Martyrs week, honors Inspector Alex

CCPUR, Oct 18: The Subsidiary Training Centre of the Border Security Force have since Tuesday observed Martyrs Week, organizing several activities for students and honor the families of those who have given their life serving the country.
The family of Inspector Alex T Lalminlun, who was killed in Pakistani shelling on April 1, 2019, also received a special felicitation today at a village school he was brought up.
The weeklong observation was inaugurated by DK Tripathi, Inspector General STC BSF with the border sentinels organizing quiz for students drawn from five schools.
Don Bosco Churachandpur topped the competition while Kendriya Vidyalaya School stood second.
Besides the quiz competition, the STC also displayed arms for the students and families of the Martyrs.
Later in the day, a grand dinner party was hosted for the families.
The STC BSF headed by Inspector General Tripathy paid homage and felicitated the family of Inspector (L) Alex T Lunminlal who is from 168 Bn BSF at St Teresa School Tuaitengphai village.
The students have also shown various cultural items at the event.
Tripathy also gave traditional shawl and memento to the family of Alex, while sports items and sweets were given to the students.
Later intereacting with the media, Tripathy said the STC BSF is currently developing a golf course at their campus and has named it ‘Alex Golf Course’ in honor of their colleague who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation while retaliating cross border shelling from Pakistan side.
