Two women held with drugs

Jiribam, Oct 17: A team of Jiribam police including two women Constables under the supervision of Addl SP (OPS), Jiribam, AK Sadananda Singh arrested two women along with 120 gms of heroin powder worth about Rs 12 lakh in the local market while frisking and checking at Foreign Check Post (FCP), Jiribam, yesterday at around 4 pm.
A press release issued by Jiribam Police SP, M Mubi Singh conveyed that two women namely Shahinaz Sheikh alias Bemma 31, w/o Abdul Noor of Kwakta Ward no 7, Bishnupur and Fundreimayum Farana (20), w/o Md Sahadat Ali of Hatta Wangkhei Khunou, Imphal East, who came in a passenger vehicle that was proceeding towards Assam were frisked inside a women frisking room by a woman police officer.
On thorough checking, 5 soap caps each were found fastened at the thighs of the two individuals using a cello-tape, the SP said, adding that 12 gms each of  heroin powder were found concealed in each of the soap caps.
A case has been registered at Jiribam Police Station against the two women for investigation, the SP added.
