Manipur athletes shine at Master Aquatic Nationals

IMPHAL, Oct 19 : Manipur athletes have amassed 22 medals including 8 gold, till day 2 at the 16th Master National Aquatic Championship which is being held at Lucknow  under the auspices of Swimming Federation of India.
N Khomdon (60-64 yrs) won a gold medal in the 100 m backstroke event while A Manbi (65-69 yrs) won a gold medal in the 50 m free style event. K Bijando Meitei won the 1 m springboard diving gold in the 35 to 39 years age group while A Sandhyarani bagged a gold medal for Manipur in the 50 m freestyle event in the 60-64 yrs category.
N Narjit managed a silver medal in the 60-64 years 50 m free style event while Th Arunkumar and S Mohendro won respectively a silver and a bronze medal in the 70-74 years 50 m freestyle event.
A Rita Devi (55-59 yrs) finished third in 50 m freestyle event to add a bronze medal to Manipur's Tally before bagging another bronze medal in 100 m backstroke event. A Elizabeth Devi also won a bronze medal for Manipur in the 40-44 years 50 m freestyle event.
