DIMAPUR, Oct 21 :  The Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs) said on Monday that the final solution will not be confined to Nagaland State, for it is "equally for Naga people across our ancestral land".
The Government of India and the Working Committee (WC) of the Naga National Political Groups' (NNPGs) "agreed position" on November 17, 2017 declared, "the Government of India recognises the right of the Nagas to self determine their future in consonance with their distinct identity...", according to the WC, NNPGs in a statement.
"The WC, NNPGs is clear that the first step towards Naga integration and self determination would be to understand political realities in our time", it added.
Despite the irreversible historic document placed before the Naga people, Nagaland is in the grip of confusion and distortion of reality, said the statement, adding that so much is being circulated in the visual media and on social media accusing WC, NNPGs of accepting economic and financial packages.
"Jehova, our God Almighty, the creator of Naga homeland is the witness", it said, adding, "Not a penny has been accepted from the Government of India from the first round of negotiation till date and will not be accepted till solution arrives". It also said that the Naga people's generosity, contributions and prayer supports have taken "us thus far". Attempt to devalue and demean the impending Indo-Naga political solution is very unfortunate, it added.
The WC, NNPGs then said that the solidarity and prayer support of "tribal hohos, civil societies, Gaon Burahs (GBs), churches and peace mediators and common citizens as equal partners stand testimony against any false propaganda". It also said that transparency has been WC, NNPGs' strength throughout."We thrive on Naga tribes' opinion and advice. It will remain so in all future endeavours".
According to the statement, with the blessing and solidarity of the Nagas, the WC, NNPGs entered into a dialogue with the Government of India. "Any agreement, therefore, shall be signed on behalf of the Naga people, with the people's consent and in presence of Naga tribal leaders".  Post agreement, WC, NNPGs, assures the Naga people that inter-tribe discourse shall be top most priority on all matters. "Our common pursuit shall be to eradicate corruption, tribalism and nepotism from all spheres of our existence.  All Naga tribes must be prepared to shoulder the responsibility of rebuilding the lost confidence and trust within us irrespective of the artificial boundary that separates us," it added.
The WC, NNPGs stated that it believed a morally, spiritually, socially, politically and economically strong and vibrant Nagaland will, unquestionably, determine the pace and progress of remaining unresolved issues between Government of India and Nagas.
