DIMAPUR, Oct 23 : The NSCN-IM leaders are all set to hold what many call as an "extremely crucial talk" with the Government of India on Thursday, October 24, in New Delhi.
There are speculations doing the round that future course of relation between the NSCN-IM and the Government of India will depend on the "extremely crucial talk" of October 24.
Meanwhile, prayer or fasting programmes are being held across Naga areas for the Naga political issue. Many Churches and organisations specifically held prayer and fasting programmes on Wednesday for the October 24 talk between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM.
Expressing its gratitude to the Naga people for these prayer programmes, the NSCN-IM said on Wednesday evening, "It is heartening to learn that many Church organizations across Nagalim are praying for the peaceful outcome of the Indo-Naga political talks because the two core issues - flag and Constitution have to do with God given Naga Nationhood". The NSCN-IM also said that it is for this very reason that no Naga stays immune from these pending issues as the two issues matter to the Naga identity and pride.
"What better way for the Nagas to spend time in prayer and take the issues to God! The wisdom, understanding and guidance that are crucial at this juncture, God will certainly give us if we approach Him in a pure heart," the NSCN-IM said in a statement.
The NSCN-IM then re-iterated that it fully acknowledges and appreciates the approach of the Church organizations in giving utmost importance to unity and reconciliation among Naga political organizations. "We feel humble enough to admit that this is certainly the will of the Naga people at this decisive moment  of history", the NSCN-IM said, adding, "Let us continue to pray earnestly to open the way for the will of God to prevail upon the hearts of all Nagas in general and political groups in particular".
According to the NSCN-IM, the people of "Nagalim for Christ" must learn to exercise humility to find acceptance in the sight of God. Certainly, Naga people’s fasting and prayer must not end in vain in this turning point of our political struggle, it also said. "Let the mighty name of God be glorified through the smooth and peaceful solution of Indo-Naga political issue. Thus, let us join hands to listen to the clarion call of the Naga people," the NSCN-IM added.
