KOHIMA, Oct 29
Even after the fifth meeting, the Government of India and the NSCN IM could not come to an understanding and the meeting which was held in New Delhi today was yet again inconclusive.
“There was no breakthrough in today’s meet. IM and GoI will sit again tomorrow,” a top source told TNT-The Northeast Today on Tuesday.
It may be mentioned that the fourth meeting between the two parties which was held yesterday in the national capital could not break the deadlock and sources informed that both parties could not come to terms with the demand for separate Naga flag and constitution.
Earlier, during the meeting between the Govern- ment of India and the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs), it was informed that all issues on the NNPGs part have been resolved and the latter have expressed their willingness to sign the final pact any day.
As per sources, today’s meeting between GoI and NNPGs was more or less of crosschecking on the agreed positions. During the meeting, the Nagaland Governor and Interlocutor, RN Ravi expressed his determination to conclude the talks by 31st Oct.
The NNPGs will be camping in Delhi till 31st Oct and talks between them and GoI will continue. TNT Bureau
