IE 1st Divn League: NESU go down 2-3 to Angtha FC, CSC carve out 4-3 win against UPSA

IMPHAL, Oct 4 : CSC, Chanung carved out a 4-3 win against UPSA, Pukhao as NESU, Khurai suffered a 3-2 defeat by Angtha FC at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak in the ongoing Moirangthem Ibobi Memorial 1st Division Football League tournament organised under the supervision of Imphal East District Football Association. Altogether 10 teams are participating in this league tournament.
In the first match of the day, CSC overcame late pressure after enjoying a dominant 3-1 lead in the first half, to seal a 4-3 win against UPSA, Pukhao.
Thangtinlal drew first blood in the 6th minute of the match before Paogumang scored twice, in the 16th and the 24th minutes, to extend the lead to 3-0 for CSC. UPSA however managed to pull back a goal in the 27th minute with the help of Arjun and made it 1-3 till the break.
Arjun scored another for UPSA in the 48th minute as they team made a determined return after the break and his team mate Th Roberth closed the gap with a fine strike in the 57th minute.
CSC however rose again and broke the stalemate in the 65th minute with the help of Sehminthang  and rested deep back to deny any change in the scoreline till the final whistle.
Meanwhile in the 9th match of the NESU, Khurai which had a bright campaign with 7 wins and 1 draw, succumbed 2-3 in the hands of Angtha FC today.
Angtha FC got off to a flying start as K Premananda and Sudhir netted a goal each in the 8th and the 19th minute respectively to ensure a 2-0 lead till the break but NESU rode on David to make their way back into the game. David halved the deficit for NESU in the 43rd minute but K Premananda helped Angtha FC regain the two goal lead in the 58th minute.  David managed another goal the very next minute to make it 2-3 for NESU however luck favoured the Angtha side as NESU efforts in the remaining part proved too blunt or inaccurate ultimately giving rivals the upperhand.
