PSYC, KMSWC post comfortable wins in Kak 2nd Division League

IMPHAL, Oct 4 : PSYC, Phunal thumped YWU, Kakching 2-0 today for the 4th win in 5 matches of the ongoing Sh Rakesh 2nd Division Football League Tournament being organised by DSA Kakching at its playground. KMSWC, Keirak too extended their winning run with a 4-1 thrashing of KTC.
In the first match of the day, PSYC had the slight edge on account of possession and attempts but were kept out from making the headway by YWU defence till the end of the first half.
YWU however started to lose ground as PSYC were relentless in their attempts to find their way in and their effort yielded positive result when D Morung drove home the ball in the 51st minute to separate the two teams. PSYC then tightened their grip when Aimson Charanga added another in a span of four minutes for a 2-0 lead before losing their tempo again.
As YWU could not give a befitting reply, PSYC walked away with all three points making it a total of 13 points after 5 matches and raced away as league leader.
Meanwhile, KMSWC also made their way back into the title contest  of the seven team league tournament by notching up a 4-1 win against KTC today as Md Samir shone with a treble.
KMSWC, Keirak started slowly and led the first half 1-0 courtesy of Md Samir's strike in the 10th minute while MD Akbar scored the second in the 49th minute before Md Samir completed his treble by pumping in two more goals in the 51st and the 61st minutes and made it 4-0 past the Kakching side.
Columbus of KTC grabbed a consolation goal in the 63rd minute of the match but the team failed to gain further ground as KMSWC were quite good to fend off all threats with ease.
