Ideal Club thrash Bpr Hockey 5-1 as 7th Jr State Level Hockey Tourney kicks off

IMPHAL, Oct 5 : Ideal Club, Tera women's team opened up the 7th Junior Men and Women Hockey Tournament being organised by Manipur Hockey at Hockey Stadium Khuman Lampak with a 5-1 thrashing of Bishnupur Hockey.
Altogether 7 teams clubbed into 2 groups are taking part in the men's competition while 5 teams will vie for top honours in the women's competition.
Both Ideal Club and Bishnupur Hockey were off the target in the first quarter but Ideal Club surged ahead scoring thrice in the second quarter.
N Diana earned Ideal Club the breakthrough in the 16th minute while Ch Bebika converted a penalty corner to double their advantage before N Ritu struck the third goal in the 24th minute.
T Ayingbi extended the Ideal Club's lead to 4-0 in the 28th minute of the match but N Babita of Bishnupur Hockey pulled back a goal in the 35th minute to make the scoreline read 1-4 at the end of the third quarter.
N Ritu then fired home the last goal in the 44th minute and helped Ideal Club wrap up the game 5-1.
KHSC, Khongman will meet HWC, Langthabal in the men's Group A opener tomorrow at 11 am while Ideal Club Tera will  take on MEIRAA, Bashikhong in the second league match of the women's competition at 2.30 pm.
YCCIC, Kontha Ahallup will also meet MEIRAA, Bashikhong latter at 3.3 pm in another Group A league match for men's competition.
