7th Junior State Level Hockey Tournament: KHSC, HU post emphatic wins in men's competition

IMPHAL, Oct 8 : KHSC, Khongbam thrashed MEIRAA Bashikhong 10-1 while HU, Lairikyengbam Leikai drubbed Bishnupur Hockey (BH) 10-3 at Hockey Stadium Khuman Lampak in today's one sided matches of the men's competition of the ongoing 7th Junior State Level Hockey Tournament. SYUC, Uchekon and YCCIC, Kontha played out a 1-1 draw in a low scoring encounter of the women's competition today.
Men's Competition
KHSC, Khongman extended their fine run at the tournament by securing a huge 10-1 win against MEIRAA to post their third win on trot in the Pool A competition which consisted of 5 teams.
N Amarjit took centrestage in this demolition as he scored four goals alone (17', 36', 40', 52') for the Khongman team while T Rohit (8', 50') and L Michael (12', 14') scored netted two goals each. M Norinko (39') and N Jameson (46') also chipped in a goal apiece for the winning side as L Dinesh grabbed a consolation goal for MEIRAA in the 46th minute of the match.
In a Pool B league match, HU kick-started their campaign with a 10-3 victory over BH as W Nirajkumar hit thrice (32', 47', 58'). A Suresh (3', 41'), Silheiba L (44', 53'), Ksh Priyobarta (48', 49') added two goals each for the winning side while G Dingku fetched a goal in the 36th minute. BH's goals were netted by N Rohit (54'), Th Bikramjit (28') and O Shyam (19').
HU will take on SYUC in the third Pool B league match at 11 pm tomorrow before YCCIC take on HWC, Langthabal in a Pool A league match at 3 pm.
Women's Competition
The fourth league match of the  women's competition saw YCCIC, Kontha comeback with the help of M Priya Devi in the 41st minute to salvage a 1-1 draw with SYUC which opened up the account in the 32nd minute through Th Anamika after a goalless draw in the first two quarters.
BH will meet MEIRAA in the 5th league match of the competition tomorrow at 9.30 am.
