NSCN-IM office, mess closed

DIMAPUR, Nov 9: Assam Rifles, in coordination with civil administration and Nagaland Police, closed NSCN (I-M)’s Asalu region office and mess located in Midland Colony of Jalukie town in Peren district on Friday.
This was in continuation of the drive that started at Ahthibung on Thursday, which followed the instruction to all groups to shut down unauthorised messes and offices across towns and villages of the State by Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG), and which was agreed by all the groups.
According to Jalukie ADC Dr Tinojongshi Chang, NSCN (I-M) authorities were served eviction letter two days ago by security forces, adding CAO of Asalu region was called by ADC and EAC of Jalukie town in this regard on Thursday. He claimed that NSCN (I-M) leaders fully cooperated with the authorities and that the drive was done amicably with full cooperation of all stake holders
ADC said the jail-cum-office of the organisation located was closed at 1 pm in the presence of civil administration officials, the police and Assam Rifles troops and the keys were deposited with the ADC office, adding the owner could collect these by visiting the office along with ward GB. Office registers and pen stands were kept with the security forces, which too could be taken back by NSCN (I-M) authorities by visiting Jalukie camp along with civil administration officials or ward GB, he added.
Terming the exercise as a step in positive direction and the way forward for an inclusive and peaceful Nagaland, the ADC lauded NSCN (IM), Assam Rifles, the police and civil administration for the same. Nagaland Post
