Many voice stand on Naga issue, appeal for peace

Deeply concerned with the unrest in the State following the agreement reached between NSCN-IM and Government of India, Kabui Mothers' Association (KAMA), Manipur has appealed all concerned to refrain from making any derogatory statement that might create mistrust and disharmony among the various communities residing in the State. KAMA will support all initiatives that aim to protect the political, economic and territorial integrity of the State from all threats, said a statement from KAMA's general secretary, Ranjita Golmei today.
Extending solidarity to the civil protest movement of COCOMI, Ranjita further appealed all the negotiating parties to understand the sentiments of Manipur populace before finalising the peace talks.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena Women Front (SSWF) Manipur has urged the 60 MLAs to camp at Delhi and pressure the Central Government at the earliest to save State's interest and integrity.
In a statement today, SSWF appealed advised the Central Government to 'refrain from using divisive policy just to please a particular group.'
Questioning the motives behind keeping the agreement reached between the negotiating parties of the peace talks confidential, it said that the territorial integrity of Manipur must not be harmed under any circumstance.
